Tennyson -Alfred, Lord 'Charge of the Light Brigade '-

What is the history behind the Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, The Charge of The Light Brigade?
Why do you think this would be a good poem to read aloud?

  1. The history of this poem is about the, "noble six-hundred," that fought in the war. This poem is a good poem to read aloud because you can read in alot of emotion and feeling, and it will feel like you were in the middle of all of it.

  2. this poem is a descrioption of an actual cavalry brigade that fought against the russian army in the Crimean War(1854-1856). Alfred tenneson uses strong description and metaphors such as "into the mouth of hell" which means that it is very dangerous where they're going.
